And the honor and distinction of the individualconsist in this,that he among all the world’s multitudesshould become a source of social good.

Drops though we be,still do we draw from out Thy ocean deeps.Motes though we be,still do we gleam in the glory of Thy splendid Sun.

Every foundation will finally become collapsed;every glory and splendor will at last vanish and disappear,but the Kingdom of God is eternaland the heavenly sovereignty and majestywill stand firm, everlasting.

O Lord of loving-kindness!We stray about Thy dwelling,longing to behold Thy beauty,and loving all Thy ways.

Praise Him, and call Him continually to mind.He verily turneth trouble into ease,and sorrow into solace,and toil into utter peace.He verily hath dominion over all things.

Thus the contingent worldis the source of deficienciesand God is the source of perfection.

What a difference between the loftiness of manand the abasement of the animal,between the perfections of manand the ignorance of the animal,between the light of manand the darkness of the animal,between the glory of manand the degradation of the animal!

Thus is it clear that the Teachings which come from Godare heavenly outpourings of grace;they are rain-showers of divine mercy,and they cleanse the human heart.

Through Thy revelation, O my God,Thou hast enabled me to know Thee,and through the radiance of Thine effulgent splendorThou hast inspired me with Thy remembrance.

Verily I swear by Thy glorythat I yearn for naught besides Thyself,nor do I desire anything except Thy mercy,nor am I apprehensive of aught save Thy justice.

Glory be to Thee, O God!Thou art the God Who hath existed before all things,Who will exist after all thingsand will last beyond all things.

Thy majesty is so transcendentthat no human imagination can reach itand Thy consummate power is so sublimethat the birds of men’s hearts and mindscan never attain its heights.

His beauty excellethevery other embodiment of beauty,and His grandeur immensely exceedethevery other manifestation of grandeur.

We are but the embodiments of poverty,of nothingness, of helplessness and of perdition,while Thy whole Being betokeneth wealth,independence, glory, majesty and boundless grace.
